NYC trio Fcukers share new single ‘Bon Bon’ via Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint
Belonging more to an age of Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada or Daft Punk than any given seminal 6-string scene, Fcuckers – pronounced ‘Fuh-koo-kers’, right? (hehehe) – are anticipating a revival of the 2000s club banger for the Tik-Tok age with new single ‘Bon Bon.’
When singer Shanny Wise tells us to get our ‘Bon Bon’ and our’ fit on’, not only shall I instantly oblige without question, but she’s also taking whatever you’ve ever wagered as an’ instant earworm’, and blowing it out the water; it’s almost as if crunchy-bright house drums, a fiendishly simple vocal line, and throbbing wob-wob bass, hasn’t always been so immensely filthy and satisfying.
In an era when the next obscenely massive-overnight DJ star is always just around the bend – it feels a moment of true celebration to have the indie world remixed by a New York DJ-trio giving some communal squad-cool back to the dancefloor. Because when isn’t music better than when it’s enjoyed together?
